We believe our board and train program is the best of both worlds. It is a balanced approach to dog training going at the dogs pace but also pushing the dog to learn. Each training session is kept to short 15 minute
sessions several times a day to optimize the dogs natural ability with out overdoing or stressing the dog. Each dog is trained at our location, in a home environment, not a stale kennel, the board and train program is limited to 3 dogs.
Our focus is to teach a rock solid obedience foundation, using positive reinforcement. Our goal is for your dogs to completely understand any and all obedience commands, additionally we will address any unwanted or
destructive behaviors, we replace those unwanted behaviors with positive and useful behaviors.
When your dog begins to learn what is expected, we will begin to implement the training into real life situation, we have found that just training in a neutral or stale location only teaches the dog to respond in that location. Our goal is to identify any current or potential problems and address then in real training scenarios, we want to help your dog to not only learn what is the right answer but to choose what is the right answer with minimal redirection from his handler.
Once your dog is finished with the training at our location, we will then bring him back to you. Where most programs just drop off the dog with a short lesson we will continue with the training, we have found that it is very easy for a good trainer to train most dogs one on one, but it takes a special person to be able to transfer that training to the owner.
We believe it is not only important to show you what your dog knows, but also how we trained him, what works the best and what does not, how to keep him trained and to continue his training. We will follow up with up to 4 training session in your home area again addressing any previous problems.
The basic board and train program for on leash or work with in a 10 foot radius is usually 2 to 3 weeks. We like to have some extra time as no two dogs are the same and these are general guide lines.
For the owner that wants complete control we require usually an additional two weeks once the dog has competed the basic course.
For dogs that are here only for a specific behaviors, the required stay is a minimum of 7 days. |
